I was contacted by AK to help her design a washing label (50cm x 50cm) for Mad og Hygge that would be sewed onto merchandise such as aprons and oven mittens. Here is the final result of this project.

One of the challenges working on this project was that the print was not going to be very big, so details would be lost if they are too small, as would any small text. It is for this reason that the mermaid’s heart-shaped mouth was made bigger than how it was on the original logo. Also, the printer was only able to print one colour at once, so that meant the mermaid had a blue heart-shaped mouth instead of her luscious red one.

About this project

Mahjong Denmark expects to have 80 participants for its big tournament in May 2015. The event is also in commemoration of the European Mahjong Association’s (EMA’s) 10th year of existence. Cocomedia was therefore approached to design a t-shirt for the event.

The overall design is a clean and stylish one. The biggest element of the t-shirt is the map of Denmark to show that it is a Danish tournament. Since it is also a mahjong tournament, the element of a 5 circle/dot mahjong tile was used as the “5” in the year “2015”. The 1 circle/dot tile was also used, but as the dot of the “i” in “Danish”, as well as a location marker on the map to indicate the tournament venue.

If you’re a Bornholmer, you might ask, “Why is Bornholm not on the map?” It’s not because we don’t like Bornholm, but the reason was that the island was just too far away from the main map of Denmark, so having an outline of Bornholm on the t-shirt made it look disconnected from the overall design. In situations like this, we prefer good design over political/geographical correctness as we believe that art is an expression that does not necessarily need to be accurate.

Here is a CV design for a client who wanted something different from the standard format. He requested for a designed that “popped”.All names and contact details in this example are fictitious. Nevertheless, you can see how visually engaging the overall design of this CV is compared to a traditional CV that is made up only of text.
